I'm pretty sure that the last time that I threw up was when I was 14. It was my birthday and, happy day for me, Mother Nature decided to gift me her monthly happiness. So I took some Ibuprofen (on an empty stomach) and within the hour I was paying tribute to the porcelain goddess.
(Good heavens, I’m so poetic with my language today, aren’t I?)
11 years, 1 month and three weeks later, the streak is over. Saturday morning I had another half marathon race and the plan was to have breakfast at my parent’s before heading to the start. So, before leaving our house, I took a multivitamin (on an empty stomach - the determining factor) and then didn’t eat for at least an hour after that. 2 minutes before the race was to begin I was crouched over a garbage can, losing my breakfast in front of 500 runners. Awesome. So yeah, that race definitely was NOT my favorite.
But here’s the funny part: I’ve run 7 half marathons and this race was my third best time! It cracks me up. And I will be doing it again next year… because I must conquer the course! So, if you want to do it with me, prepare yourself for the Riverton City Half Marathon on March 26, 2011!

i love your dedication to running! and for the record, i had to also learn the hard way from taking vitamins with no food.
You are AWESOME! Sorry about the barf though! I am so impressed that you could still run! When I throw up, it takes it out of me! Great job!
Yucky! Good job with all of the running. I need to be that motivated.
I am the same way, I have to have food with almost all types of food I take in.
;)
Oh my heck! You are some kind of running woman warrior!! That is awesome! I haven't thrown up since I was young either...I always wonder if I ever will again.
