If you need a good book to read (and are looking for a series to take over your life), please read The Hunger Games and Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I got these books in September, just after the second book was released (FYI, the third - and final - book in the series comes out in August of this year). I told my mom and my sisters about them and they have all loved them. I just got them back last night, after lending them to a friend, so I started to read The Hunger Games again and I am over halfway done already. They are really fast to read (written for young adults, like Twilight) and they are so, so, so, SO good.
I can't even really explain what the books are about - without people give me really weird looks because it sounds so crazy. So please, PLEASE, if you are looking for a good book, give these a try.
I am pretty sure that I like them better than Twilight. Well, actually that's not really true... because they are so different that you can't really compare them. The story line and action is MUCH more engaging than Twilight, but Edward is Edward and nothing can compare to him. Just give them a chance, will you?
And if you've already read them, tell me if you liked them and if you are Team Peeta or Team Gale.
P.S. If someone could find me a mockingjay pin, I would love them forever.

I am Team Katniss. :) I don't care who she ends up with. She's awesome no matter what.
Oh and you can try zazzle.com. They have some shirts. I have yet to find a pin though...In an interview with Suzanne Collins about the third book she did have a mockinjay necklace on. It was saaaaweet.

LOVE these books! I, too, found myself for some reason comparing them to Twilight, even though they aren't even in the same league. Maybe because they're teen fiction???
Anyway, I have to agree with someone above-- TEAM KATNISS -- I love how there is finally a book out there with a strong heroine out there!!! I get so sick of teens idolizing weak, pathetic bella. Yeah, I said it.

These are seriously my favorite! They are truly amazing! I'm addicted. I'd have to say I am more pro Team Peeta- what's not to love about his sweet nature and bread making skills??
Never even heard of these, but seeing as there are like 600 holds on the first book alone at the library, they must be pretty good!
I have been looking for a book to take on vacation this week... maybe I'll have to pick it up (since I clearly won't be getting it from the library in this lifetime!!!)
