Ragnar Relay - Wasatch Back

I survived my 2 nights apart from Tyson... but just barely.  I still feel pretty wiped out from my 1.5 total hours sleep during the 34 hour race.  It was so crazy, but so much fun!  It ended up being that I didn't know ANYONE on my team (because the friend that had invited me to be on her team found out that she couldn't participate anymore - as she had just gotten a job working for Ragnar).  So there I was in a truck, with 5 strangers, planning to sweat it up for 30+ hours.  But I have 5 new friends and it was an experience that I will NEVER forget!  I'm so glad that I didn't back out (like I wanted to, once I found out that Christy couldn't do it with me anymore), and I'm super proud of my accomplishment - made even better by being pregnant and seeing the looks on all of the other runners faces when they saw my baby bump.

I ran 3 legs over 24 hours.  My first run was 6.7 miles, just outside of Logan at 7:30am on Friday.
The next time that I ran was at 6:30pm that same day.  Only 3 miles, but it was VERY hot.  We were now in Morgan at this point.
My last run was Saturday morning at 6:15am in Kamas... after my night of NO sleep.  My allergies were out of control by this point, so I felt like a zombie on my run.  3.3 miles and it was one of the hardest runs that I have ever done.  Not that the course was hard - I just didn't have the energy to go.  My legs felt like lead.

Our van finished with all of our runs just before 10am and then we went straight to Cafe Rio together.
Then we waited at the finish line in Park City for Van 2 to finish... we were waiting until after 4pm and we were all so exhausted (and stinky) and just ready to be done with it all.  But we stuck it out for our awesome medals (seriously, this is the medal that I am most proud of and I took it with me every where on Sunday to show everyone).  Our team finished in 33:59:26.  THIRTY-FOUR HOURS!
Will I do it again?  Probably.  I would really like to try a different Ragnar race (like Vegas or Arizona or Chicago).

Whitney you are pretty amazing! I loved getting to know you. Like you I was a little uncertain about the race because I wasn't going to know anyone, but it turned out to be amazing! Thanks for the memories. :) And if you ever want to do Arizona I'm down in the area...I'm sure we could find a team. :)

Freakin' A. You blow my socks off! I can't believe you did this, and where the sock blowing off comes in is the part where you did it PREGNANT. Gee whiz, Superwoman!

I'll start jogging with you next week. Wait, do you jog or run? I am not healthy enough to RUN yet.
