Over the weekend I've become obsessed with running again. I signed up for my first half marathon of the year on Friday. It's put on by Riverton city (where my parent's live) and it's in 9 weeks. I'm really excited for it! I went out on Saturday and ran 5 miles. It was my first real run since the half marathon I did in November, and surprisingly to me, I felt great! And I did really well! I finished in 51:34... and I'm really proud of it (it's not very fast... but it's fast to me since I hadn't run in over 2 months!). I didn't have to stop to walk at all, either! Go me!
So now this morning, I found a killer deal on a pair of running shoes, which I'm buying with some of my Christmas money. And I'm looking at races for the year. So far I've found 10 races that I want to do. Will I be able to do them all? Probably not, but they are races to keep me motivated for the whole year. I'm toying with the idea of running a FULL marathon next January... but for now I'll try to focus on this upcoming half marathon. I don't know why I'm suddenly wanting 2010 to be my best running year - but I'm not going to fight it! Maybe I'll finally be able to get as in shape as I've wanted to be since I got married.
P.S. There is a St. Patrick's Day 5K here in South Jordan. I'm signing up for that today. Anyone want to do it with me?

I will sign up for the Riverton 1/2 and maybe even the SJ 5K. Sounds fun. I'm wanting to do a lot of races this year as well and the whole idea of a Marathon is still in my head. I know....since you want to get preg this year and I do too (towards the end of the year)maybe we should committ to doing it after that. Or....maybe we should just do one in Sept of this year?!?!?!?!
I may do the St. Patty's day one with you. Where did you find the details?
If not that one, I'll definitely do one in the spring (when it's a bit warmer, my legs itch SO bad when I run in the cold).

Yay for running! I totally wish that I was in Utah to run some of these races with you.
I guess I'll just have to look forward to January in Orlando. ;)
