Favorite Places to Eat

Busy Bee Lauren has been doing posts this week of her "Top Ten" favorites.  Yesterday's post was her Top Ten favorite restaurants and since I like to eat and eat and eat, I decided that I needed to do this post too.

Food is good.
Let's begin, shall we?

10. Chick-Fil-A
Yes, a "fast food" restaurant is making my list.  But this fast food is so good!  AND - it's some what healthy.  They cook their chicken and delicious waffle fries in peanut oil, that is cholesterol and trans-fat free.  And hi, their ice cream stuff is super good!
Whit's fav: Chicken Salad sandwich
Ty's fav: Chargrilled Chicken sandwich

9. Rumbi's Island Grill
My favorite place to get a rice bowl.  Love, love, love it.  They also have really good salads (or so I hear, but once I find something that I like, I don't ever order anything else).
Whit's fav: Bali Island Chicken with brown rice
Ty's fav: Bali Island Chicken with white rice

8. Texas Roadhouse
The reason that we go here is mostly for the rolls.  Seriously.  I could eat, like... 5 baskets of rolls for my meal.  Super good.
Whit & Ty's fav: Steak.  Steak is yummy.

7. Five Guys Burgers and Fries
Yeah, I know - a lot of people like In-N-Out Burger.  I like it too... kind of.  But I prefer Five Guys.  Why?  Topping choices.  In-N-Out doesn't have mushrooms on their menu.
Whit's fav: Little Cheeseburger with A1 steaksauce and grilled mushrooms (seriously - it is SO good).
Ty's fav: Little Cheeseburger with BBQ sauce, grilled onions, tomatoes, lettuce, other stuff that I can't think of.  And the Cajun style fries.

6.  Kneaders
There are only two reasons that we go to Kneaders.  Chunky Cinnamon French Toast and Sourdough Pancakes.  We've been the last 3 Saturday's in a row.  It's an addiction.  Please go there as soon as you can.  It's all you can eat for only $5!!

5. Downtown Philly Cheesesteaks
Oh yum.  The more we eat here, the more we love it.  Good, good, good.
Whit's fav: Cream Cheese Steak (with only steak, cream cheese and mushrooms) and Birch Beer.  Birch beer is so fantastic and they have it in the fountain.  So, so good!
Ty's fav: Mushroom Pepper Steak/Garlic Steak

4.  Cafe Rio
Yep.  I said it.  I love it.  And all of the other place like it, suck.  I've been to them all and hated them all.  Cafe Rio rules!!
Whit's fav: Veggie Salad, black beans, shredded lettuce and only cilantro.  House dressing.  Also, the Saturday special of the Mahi-Mahi tacos.
Ty's fav: Chicken Tostada on a flour tortilla with black beans.

3. Zupas
I think that we eat here the most.  Well, here and Cafe Rio.  One or both on the weekends.  Soup, salad and panini sandwiches.  Very, VERY good.
Whit's fav: Summer Chicken salad, Chicken Enchilada Chili soup
Ty's fav: Mangoberry Salad, Turkey Cranberry sandwich

2. Lone Star Taqueria
This place deserves it own blog post.  My family has been going here for 10 years.  I kid you not when I say that it is the best Mexican food in the valley.  This is the absolute BEST rice and beans that I have ever found.  So, SO good! (They don't have a website, but just Google them.)
Whit's fav: Quesadilla with rice and beans (I know, so boring sounding, right?  WRONG!)
Ty's fav (and also every other person in my family's favorite): Fish taco combo.
*If you get there, and the fish of the day is Mahi-Mahi (sometimes they call it Dorado), get the fish tacos NO MATTER WHAT!

1. Pat's BBQ
You knew this was coming, right?  We absolutely love this place.  If you are in the mood for meat, just go here, okay?
Whit's fav: Pulled Pork with mashed potatoes
Ty's fav: Burnt Ends (only served on Fridays) and jambalaya.
