Cycles Are Stupid

Sometimes I really hate being a girl.

Since I've stopped nursing Katie (which has been almost 9 freaking months), my cycle has been out of whack.  Like, every 15-20 days.  So I get to switch around different types of birth control pills (which affect my skin) and now last week I started a second pill that should hopefully get me back on a schedule.

Here's a side effect:  I've gained 2lbs in the last week.

So in conclusion, sometimes I hate being a girl and cycles are stupid.  So is weight gain.  Especially when you are trying to get ready for a tropical vacation.

To help show you how much I hate all of it, I've included a picture of my beautiful, skinny, happy face.

hahaha! You crack me up, I seriously love you so much. Weight gain IS stupid. As is your cycle. I would bring you over some cookies so we could drown in our weight gain sorrow together....but... I will refrain.

Ha! I love that I am not the only person alive willing to post horrific pictures! But you don't look horrific, you just look funny.

Okay, not that you asked, but I am going to give my input on birth control. Again, since this is unsolicited, you can do whatever you want with it. My personal belief is ... if your hormones are fine on their own, why mess with them (aka using hormonal birth control)? Years ago, when I decided to go off the pill (because I had developed a breast tumor caused by excess estrogen from birth control pills), I had a copper IUD inserted. The copper IUD doesn't have hormones in it, but it does the job! Everyone was like, "Ah! Your periods will be so much worse!" But personally, I never noticed a difference. Anyway, to me, that's one of the best birth control options out there.
