My little girl is growing up too fast. And every day I am surprised by things that she says. She's so smart.
This morning while we were driving to daycare, she started saying to herself, "Stop it, please." This was a continuation of a conversation that she and I and her daddy were having last night. Something that she has picked up at daycare is that she will YELL at us to "Stop it!!!!". She was doing this last night and I was telling her that it isn't nice to talk that way. If she wanted me to stop, she needed to ask me nicely by saying, "Please stop" or "Stop it, please" with no yelling involved. I guess it stuck with her because she was remembering it again this morning.
These pictures are from Sunday afternoon, while we were out visiting Tyson's family. Katie can always count on her Uncle Caleb bringing out some cars to play with her. She was playing by herself as her dad and uncle were on the couch talking about something boring (I'm sure it was football) and I got my camera out and just watched her play. I can watch her play for hours.
Being a parent is tough. Knowing how to teach your kids is not something that comes naturally (at least for me). I do not have a lot of patience and I find myself raising my voice at Katie more than I am proud of. Thankfully, Katie is very forgiving of my faults and always has a hug for me when I tell her that I'm sorry for yelling and getting mad. She keeps me humble.
And I love her.
