The weather today has been hit and miss. And by the time we (Tyson and I, and his parents) got to see the animals it was very miss. The storm clouds came blowing in, but Katie still loved being there and getting to see all of the farm animals. (I, on the other hand, was hating the darkness while trying to get pictures.)
She was having a very serious conversation with this momma pony.
She loved petting and talking to the horses, ponies and cows. The donkey scared her a little when he started braying LOUDLY. The pigs scared her too - they decided to have a little fight when she was trying to talk to them. She said Hi to the turkeys and liked listening to them gobble. She liked the llamas, sheep and goats, but I had asked her if she wanted to ride a pony at that point and she wouldn't focus on anything but the chance to ride a pony.
(Side note: Back in June we tried to take her on a pony ride at our town days festival thing, but she started to cry and cling to me as soon as I lifted her to the saddle. This last week she rediscovered her rocking horse and has been climbing on it every night by herself and going for a nice long "ride". This time, I knew she would - at the very least - get on the pony and let me walk around with her.)
Ride a pony she did (and I didn't even have to walk by her after the first lap around). In fact, she loved it so much, her dad went back and bought her another ride so that we could all watch her happy face again.
